Rock fans tuned into yesterday's (Jan. 20) football playoff games got a shock when, during a break in the action, the familiar opening of the Rolling Stones' Sympathy for the Devil' rang out of their television speakers.

After weeks of speculation, Rolling Stones guitarist Ron Wood has gotten married to theater producer Sally Humphreys. The pair got hitched at London's Dorchester Hotel in front of fellow rockers such as Paul McCartney and best man Rod Stewart.

It was a brief performance, but the Rolling Stones left fans thoroughly rocked at the 12-12-12 benefit at New York's Madison Square Garden Wednesday night. Mick Jagger and the band provided a club-like party atmosphere for their two-song performance.

The Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger has played the Ed Sullivan Theater many times before, but this time the vocalist returned for a bit of comedy rather than music. Jagger, who has been in the New York area for the Rolling Stones 50th anniversary performances, dropped by 'The Late Show With David Letterman' Tuesday night (Dec. 11) to provide a Top 10 list.

"Good to see you all. Good to see anybody," quipped guitarist Keith Richards from the stage of the Rolling Stones' first 50th anniversary arena show -- but the pleasure was the audience's during a 150-minute set that included a number of the band's greatest hits, as well as appearances from former Stones, famous friends and the London Youth Choir.

Tomorrow (Nov. 25) will see the proper return to the stage of the Rolling Stones, with the first of two gigs at London's 02 Arena. However, even though the eyes of the rock world will be upon them and they've had two warm-up gigs in Paris, they are still not sure of what they will play.

Pete Bennett, a legendary figure known as the "World's No. 1 Promotions Man," has died. he was found dead of a heart attack in his home in New York. He had claimed to be 67, but stories over the years often listed his real age as up to 10 years older.

The Rolling Stones have released the latest in their Stones Archive series of classic concerts. Last month saw the group put out a 2005 club date from Toronto, and the newest show available for download is their July 25, 1982 performance at Roundhay Park in Leeds.

The Rolling Stones are celebrating 50 years in music, and you don't get to that stage without doing something right. The group dropped by the NBC's 'Today' show on Thursday morning (Nov. 15) to reflect on what initially drew them together and where fame has taken them.

One of the great myths in rock history is the rivalry between the Rolling Stones and the Beatles. In fact, despite their sonic differences, the groups were good friends and often timed their releases so that they wouldn't coincide with each other.

Earlier today (Oct. 15), the Rolling Stones announced that they will perform four concerts -- two in London and two in Newark, N.J. -- in the coming months. Those who are unable to make those shows can now rest easy. The final show of the '50 and Counting' mini-tour will be shown live on pay-per-view in the United States.
