The State Fire Marshal’s Office said two brothers from Waterville were arrested yesterday and charged with arson for setting a car on fire in Madison four months ago.

The State Police Computer Crimes Unit today charged a Livermore Falls man with possessing child pornography. According to Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland, investigators and Livermore Falls Police arrested Christopher Roy, 36, at his home at 73 Hunton Loop Road around 9:30 am.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested four people in Winthrop this week for their roles in trafficking heroin throughout Kennebec County. This was a investigation among the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency's South Central Task Force in Augusta, the Winthrop Police Department, the Monmouth Police Department, the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office and the Maine State Police.
An incident in South Portland and Scarborough earlier today (July 1) has led to the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency seizing over two pounds of heroin, in what is believed to be Maine’s largest seizure of the drug.
State Police say they have charged two teenage boys with stealing eight cars in the past week from Farmingdale and causing damage to some of the cars and to the Litchfield Fairgrounds. The boys, whose names have not been released, are both 15 and from Farmingdale and Whitefield, according to Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland.
It sure seems that we see more stories of crime and violence here in central Maine lately. While, that might be true, Maine is still one of the most safest states in the country.

Two men have been charged with selling heroin in Southwest Harbor as the result of a several month investigation by MDEA’s Downeast Task Force, Southwest Harbor Police and the Hancock Sheriff’s Office.
