There is no hiding from it. We have all been affected by some form of cancer. Be it a family member, a friend, or even personally going through it.

This Saturday, September 24, there will be a 5k (walk or run) at the UMA trails in Augusta. This is a free event, but donations to Miles Across Maine would certainly be appreciated.

Casey Gallant, a student at St Michael's School in Augusta, will be holding this event in memory of his Grandmother, who recently lost her long and courageous battle to Breast Cancer. Casey has raised almost $2,000 this summer, and the money collected Saturday will be donated at the Maine General Breast Cancer Walk in October.

This is a family event and there will be pizza following the 5k. Wear pink if you have it.

Whether you walk or run in this 5K, it is for a great cause. If you can't make it Saturday, the family asks that donations to Miles Across Maine would be appreciated in lieu of gifts.
