Maine Instrument Flight at the Augusta State Airport is celebrating 70th years with an open house on Saturday June 18, 2016.  According to their Facebook post the events  is free and open to the public from 1-3pm There will be tours and food and airplane rides for $15 a person.

As a frequent visitor to MIF, I have to say, IF you have time to come visit you should. It is a fun place to check out and a really cool change to get up close and personal with the planes and the whole airport experience.

As a kid I used to go with my parents to Bangor International Airport and watch planes, so I think EVERY kids should have a chance to see the planes up close and personal.
