Maine's governor says he hopes Donald Trump picks him to be part of his administration if the presumptive Republican presidential nominee is elected. If not, Gov. Paul LePage says he has other plans.

The outspoken Republican governor made the comments Wednesday night during a town hall meeting in Lewiston.

He says if Trump, who he endorsed earlier this year, isn't elected or doesn't select him, he'll consider running against independent U.S. Sen. Angus King in 2018.

WMTW-TV reports LePage jokingly told the crowd not to tell his wife about his interest in running for the Senate seat because, "she hasn't said yes yet."
