Chuck Berry, known for hits like "Johnny B Goode" and "Rollover Beethoven" has passed away at the age of 90.

According to ABC News,  at 12:40 this afternoon, law enforcement responded to a medical emergency at a home on Buckner Road in St. Charles County, MO.  They found an unresponsive 90 year old man (identified as Berry) and began administering life saving techniques.  Unfortunately, he could not be revived and was pronounced dead at 1:26 PM.

Charles Edward Anderson Berry was born October 18, 1926 in St. Louis, MO.

The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, and The Beach Boys all claim his music one of their primary influences.  Berry he was awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1984 and he was one of the first performers inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1986.  Berry was recognized at the Kennedy Center Honors in 2000.

On his 90th birthday, last October, he announced that he would be releasing a new album.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Themetta Berry.
