Gas prices remained the same as last week in Maine, but dropped nationally.

According to price monitoring site Gas Buddy, the average price for a gallon of gas in Maine this week is $2.230, just down from last weeks state wide average of $2.234.

Nationally, the average price for a gallon of gas is $2.222 which is down from last weeks national average of $2.251.

We searched locally for the lowest gas prices in Central Maine.

In Augusta, the cheapest price we could find was at the Irving Station on 284 Civic Center Drive which is selling gas at $2.15 a gallon. The Kenoco Station on 363 Western Ave checked in at $2.18 a gallon.

In Waterville, the cheapest place for gas we could find was at the Mobil on 94 Pleasant Street, which is selling gas at $2.16 a gallon, and J & S Oil at 320 KMD which is listing gas at $2.17 a gallon.

In Winthrop, the Shell on 48 Main Street reported gas at $2.18 a gallon.

And in the Lewiston area, Danny's 1495 Sabattus Street and USA Gas 1892 Lisbon Road both reported gas at $2.17 a gallon.
