As American Idol inches closer to its final episode, the show's Season 3 champion, Fantasia, is setting a brand new era into motion.

Yesterday (January 7), the singer released the breezy-yet-declarative "No Time For It," a here-I-am declaration she insisted could kick-start any lingering New Year's resolutions. "It's a new year and I have.. NO TIME FOR IT! This is your anthem!" she tweeted alongside a link to the track, featured above.

The song, beachy enough to convince you January's a summer month, is one big, fat bit of permission to dismiss hearsay and gossip. "Do you thing, get your change / By the way don’t you think I’mma care 'cause I’m not / Got my mind on my money / And the hate don’t really matter, nah," she sings over zippy, untiring drums and sunshiny effects.

"No Time For It" is certainly a departure from 'Tasia's Idol days, during which she sang tunes popularized by Porgy and Bess and Stevie Wonder, but she might soon return to her roots. When a fan asked on Twitter if she'd consider reappearing on the show for its farewell, she responded: "Absolutely. Bringing it back to where it all started."

"Summertime" Part 2? We're ready...

Fantasia's last album, 2013's Side Effects Of You, included singles "Lose To Win" and "Without Me."
