It’s known as America’s oldest candy company, the New England Confectionery Company, could be closing.

Known as NECCO which makes NECCO Wafers, Mary Janes, Clark Bars, Candy Buttons, Squirrel Nut Zippers, and Sweetheart Valentine's Day hearts has been in business since 1847.

NECCO is in debt owing nearly $100 million to lenders. If they don't find a buyer they will be forced to close.

According to app.com since the news broke people have been hoarding NECCO wafers just in case.
