The Maine National Guard is partnering with the Augusta Police and Kennebec County Sheriff's Office for a prescription Drug Take Back event at the Augusta Armory, today (Oct. 26) from 10am until 2pm.

In addition, the Kennebec County Sheriff's Office invites you to bring your unwanted medication tomorrow (Oct. 27) to the following sites, from 10am to 2pm, during National Drug Take Back Day:

  • Belgrade Transfer Station
  • China Transfer Station
  • Litchfield Transfer Station
  • Readfield Transfer Station

Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposing of these drugs while also education the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.

Volunteers from all three organizations will be available to accept unwanted prescriptions. After the collection, the drugs will be safely and responsibly disposed of by law enforcement personnel. Please do not bring used needles to this event.
