Most of us know moving to a new area can be scary and intimidating.  Can you imagine how much more difficult it would be if you were moving to Central Maine from another country?

According to the KJ, a proposed food market in downtown Augusta would help alleviate some of the stress felt by recent immigrants and help them integrate into our community.

The market would feature about a half dozen booths serving foods from the Middle East, French Canada, and beyond.  The customers would learn about each other's cultures as they ate at common tables.  They plan to name it "World To Table"

The issue they are dealing with now is funding the project.  Organizers expect the project to require $1 to $1.5 million for startup.
